We’re hiring!
Job Opportunity: Project Manager
Location: Melrose, MA | Position: Full-Time
About:
At Eagle Hill Homes, we're more than just a design-build company. We're a team of designers, builders, and problem-solvers who take pride in the work we do and the relationships we build along the way.
Based in Melrose, MA, we specialize in high-end residential renovations, additions, and custom homes throughout Greater Boston. As we've grown, our commitment has remained the same: exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and an outstanding experience for every client who puts their trust in us.
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and take ownership of our projects from construction kickoff through completion. Someone who leads with confidence, communicates clearly, anticipates challenges, and understands that a successful project is about more than just staying on schedule and on budget.
We're a growing company with big goals, a collaborative team, and a genuine passion for what we do. In this role, you'll report directly to one of the owners, working closely together while taking ownership of your projects and leading our field team. We're looking for someone who shares our values, takes pride in their work, and is excited to play a meaningful role in where we're headed.

Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Based out of our Melrose, MA office, with regular visits to active project sites throughout Greater Boston. Flexibility to work from home when appropriate, but this is a hands-on, people-facing role.
The Role
As an integral part of our team, you'll:
Project Management: Oversee 3–5 active residential construction projects from pre-construction handoff through closeout and warranty, taking ownership of schedules, budgets, quality, and client experience.
Budget Management: Monitor project budgets in JobTread, track actual versus projected costs, identify potential overruns early, and proactively address concerns.
Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinating labor, subcontractors, material deliveries, and inspections to keep projects moving efficiently.
Field Leadership: Direct and coordinate our Lead Carpenter, internal field team, and subcontractors, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and quality workmanship across all projects.
Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact throughout construction, providing weekly updates, leading site meetings, documenting decisions, and ensuring timely follow-through.
Change Orders: Identify, price, document, and obtain approval for change orders before additional work begins.
Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits and quality checkpoints to ensure construction aligns with approved plans, selections, and Eagle Hill Homes' standards.
Trade & Vendor Management: Coordinate scopes of work, bids, purchase orders, insurance documentation, lien waivers, and supplier relationships.
Permits & Inspections: Coordinate required permits and inspections while maintaining positive relationships with inspectors, neighbors, and trade partners.
Project Closeout: Manage punch lists, final walkthroughs, project documentation, and warranty follow-through.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with our design and pre-construction teams to ensure a smooth transition into construction, proactively solve challenges, and continuously improve our processes.
Your First 90 Days
We believe in setting clear expectations and giving our team the support they need to succeed.
First 30 Days: Get to know our team, systems, and active projects. Understand project budgets, schedules, and outstanding decisions while participating in client meetings and field coordination alongside the owners.
First 60 Days: Begin independently leading client communication, field coordination, scheduling, and change order management, with support from the owners as needed.
First 90 Days: Take full ownership of assigned projects, maintaining accurate schedules, updated projected costs, approved change orders, and clear communication with clients and the field team.
Not Required But A Bonus If…
You have experience using JobTread, Buildertrend, or similar construction management software.
You have your OSHA 30 certification.
You've worked in a design-build environment or have experience with high-performance residential construction.
You have a background in the trades and understand construction from the field up.
You like Lemon Spindrifts... and dogs. Especially dogs.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: 3+ years managing residential renovations, additions, or custom home projects, ideally with project values of $500K or more.
Construction Knowledge: A strong understanding of residential construction sequencing, from foundation to finish, building envelope details, and Massachusetts building codes.
Financial Understanding: Comfortable reading estimates, managing job costs, tracking budgets, and preparing change orders.
Organization: Someone who can confidently manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, and stay ahead of deadlines and details.
Communication: Clear, professional, and approachable when working with clients, architects, subcontractors, and team members.
Leadership: A proactive problem-solver who takes ownership, makes decisions, and knows how to keep a team moving in the right direction.
Team Player: You enjoy collaborating, value different perspectives, and understand that great projects are never a one-person show.
Cultural Fit: Someone who values accountability, kindness, hard work, and a little fun along the way.
Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Pay + Performance Bonuses: Because great work deserves to be recognized and rewarded.
Vehicle Allowance: You'll be on the move between job sites, and we want to make sure you're taken care of along the way.
Unlimited PTO + Paid Holidays: Because we believe you should have a life outside of work. Crazy concept, we know.
401(k) with Company Match: Your future matters to us, and we're committed to helping you build it.
Tools to Succeed: Company-provided phone, laptop, and iPad. Everything you need to stay connected, organized, and on top of your projects.
Collaborative Culture: Designers, project managers, carpenters, and trade partners all working toward the same goal. No egos necessary.
Growth Opportunities: We're growing, and we want people who are excited to grow with us. Your ideas, perspective, and contributions genuinely matter here.
Direct Access to Ownership: Your voice matters. You'll work closely with the owners and have a real opportunity to help shape how we do things.
Fun, Exciting Atmosphere: We're serious about our work but know how to have fun doing it!
Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000, with opportunities for project performance bonuses.
We're looking for someone who's organized, dependable, proactive, and genuinely enjoys working with people. Someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and doesn't wait around for someone else to solve a problem.
Good instincts? Love that. A positive attitude? Even better. The ability to juggle 47 moving pieces without losing your mind (or at least without letting anyone know)? Now we're talking.
Our Take On Education
Hi, Sam here! I have a degree in Marketing and Graphic Design, and somehow here I am, a female General Contractor co-owning a growing design-build company. Life's funny like that.
Here's our take: A degree is great, but it doesn't tell us everything about the person sitting across from us.
Don't get us wrong, construction experience is essential for this role. We need someone who knows how to run a project and lead a team. But a degree in Construction Management? Not a requirement. We're far more interested in what you know, how you think, and what you bring to the table than the piece of paper hanging on your wall.
This role is for you if…
You love construction. Not just the beautiful finished photos, but everything it takes to get there. The planning, problem-solving, coordination, and satisfaction of watching a project come to life.
You're organized, proactive, and take pride in keeping things moving. You can see the big picture without letting the little details fall through the cracks.
You're a natural leader who enjoys working with people. You know how to hold others accountable while maintaining positive relationships with clients, carpenters, and trade partners.
You understand that things don't always go according to plan (because, well, construction), but you're the person who stays calm, finds solutions, and figures out the next step.
Most importantly, you believe accountability and kindness can coexist. You take ownership when something goes wrong, celebrate when things go right, and genuinely enjoy being part of a team.
Why work for us?
This is usually the part where companies tell you about their five-year sabbaticals and the hot fudge sundae bar on the seventh floor of their office.
Sorry, we ain't got that.
What we do have? Well, for starters, our dog Tito is in the office during the week, which we think basically trumps a sabbatical anyway??
But seriously.
Eagle Hill Homes has grown a lot over the years, and we're incredibly proud of the company we're building. We design and build beautiful spaces, work with some pretty amazing clients, and have a team of people who genuinely care about what they do.
But at our core, we're still just people who care about people.
Our employees. Our clients. Our trade partners. And the families and lives waiting for all of us when the workday is done.
We believe you can work hard, take pride in what you do, and still have a life outside of work. We believe great ideas can come from anyone, mistakes are opportunities to learn, and no one should feel like they're on an island when things get tough.
We're a team that rolls up our sleeves, figures things out, and has each other's backs. We're not perfect, and we don't expect you to be either. But we do expect honesty, accountability, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to do right by the people around you.
And somewhere between the job site visits, Friday happy hours, office laughs, and occasional midday ice cream breaks, we hope you'll find something that feels like more than just a job.
A place where you're supported, challenged, appreciated, and excited about what you're building.
Because at the end of the day, we're not just building homes. We're building a company we're really proud to be part of.
And we'd love for you to be part of it.
Interested? Mainly because of Tito? We get it.
Fill out the application and tell us a little about yourself. We'd love to hear from you!
